The Silver Light

Donald P. Goodman III

Version 1.0 (26 May 1202)

The lady stands upon the earth, her face aglow,

brown feet impress'd on grass and earth in starry night;

the sky the deepest blue---for sun seems down and low---

all shimmering like silver in the starry light.

The moon, like platinum, arises high and bright,

and sends her silver beams to lighten all below,

in nighttime's black and darkness giving blessed sight,

clear eyes to them that lost their sight so long ago!

For though the sun seems low at times, his golden light

is always there, doth always o'er the meadow flow;

a golden warmth so endless it ends every plight,

its mere reflection doth surpass all other right.
