Only the briefest of notes for today, but its the only way I'll get back in the groove and not have it all fall in a heap after a near month hiatus
The colder weather is here, damp and getting dark much earlier now. Following a light rain last week another patch of odd fungi have sprouted alongside the house on the south-east corner where its dampest and where the roots of a dead silver birch are probably providing all sorts of fungal nourishment. About 20cm across and about 8cm high, a thick and fleshy looking toadstool, I can't remember seeing any like it before but we've had so many different kinds in the garden that I can't be sure
