My Recommendations

I started with assembling the base of the front porch. This is where my Kakuri clamps (linked on the main page) really came in handy. It was a pretty straightforward glue-up. The kit comes with some wood glue, but you're expected to use this wood glue for the next several kits, so I'd recommend just getting some Titebond or other regular wood glue so you don't feel like you have to ration this tiny tube for months.

Next you will assemble Moomin's bed, which is a metal frame. This is where you will need something other than the wood glue. I ended up using a small drop of this to secure the fabric to Moomin's mattress as well, as the tape didn't feel tight enough by itself.

Volume 02

Volume 02 is focused on Snufkin, and we will be finishing the Front Porch Stairs and building the Coat Stand and Snufkin's Tent.

My Recommendations

In part two, we put the actual stairs on the porch stairs. These go on pretty easily, just a simple glue up. I found the brass clamps useful again here. You will also assemble a coat rack. It looks a bit unfinished, but the instructions say they will tell you how to paint it in the next issue.

After this is Snufkin's tent. I found it a little obnoxious to get it put on the frame just right, but the outcome was fine in the end. This completed Volume 02 and this month's model delivery!
