A longer ride this afternoon, starting out heading east to Jells park and then north following the bike tracks, curved around through Koomba park wetlands and then along a very straight main road most of the way back towards the city. I'm not sure if I was on the Dandenong creek track or the Eastern freeway track, or if they're even distinct. The traffic noise is horrendous even if the bikes are separated by a wall and distance, it completely drowns out any bird-life nearby that's trying to make itself heard....
All except for the Rainbow lorikeets[1]; hundreds & hundreds of Rainbow lorikeets shooting back and forth around the larger trees near the apple orchards in Wantirna South. It really brings home home the urban noise changes the wildlife mix, driving out everything that can't compete in size, strength, attitude or noise
