There are a couple of breweries somehow still operating past the old railroad tracks near the inlet. And Del has been working at the worse one, Norville Island Ales. That beer is so bad. But a job is a job, and 3 weeks must be some kind of record for Del, so that's great for them. The brewery owner has a big heart and gives a hand up to hard luck cases. Also she has started hiring Olds sometimes too, dwarfs mainly or sometimes an elf, which is interesting an unusual around these parts, but I think it's really good. Some will disagree with me on that, but this is the future coming on.
I'm walking with Del on their way to their shift the other morning. And when we get there, I see the owner of the place has goblins out in the back lot, stacking pallets or something. She's got goblins working there now? Goblins. Come on, now that is going too far.
So Del heads inside to start, and I just have to hang back from the next lot and watch the goblin jobs. Sure enough, after a little while they are fighting instead of stacking, hitting each other with the pallets. Then one chases the other up the arm of some old cherry-picker truck parked in the next lot. And somehow, I have no idea how, they activate the hydraulics, and now the arm is going up and down and spinning around. And those poor little things are stuck up there, wailing while the thing spins around. So I'm thinking can I somehow help, or ...?
Don't even get to finish that thought, because out of nowhere a yellow dragon appears in the sky, attracted by the commotion or something, I don't know how dragons think. But it swoops low and grabs the cherry picker truck's arm with its talons, and actually starts to fly off with it! Except it ends up snagging it on a power line, and dropping it onto the brewery building, which is some old brick thing that collapses right quick. The vats tip and bust open too, and soon there is crappy beer spilling everywhere from the ruins of it all. I guess that's the end of that place, and Del's job. But like I say, Norville Island beer was pretty bad anyways.
