New Release: Lab Trouble

2022-12-15 | 1 min read

Play

I've been really hesitant to actually put this game out into the world and I keep going over little things to tweak or fix. Like the roll tables for what comes out of a door, a potential third enemy type, new sprites to make the backgrounds more detailed. I'm also mulling over how to display a brief point count above the player's head when you pick up a piece of lab equipment or kill an enemy. That's not a necessary feature! I can figure that out for another project later.

I'm just delaying. I don't have any other projects or project ideas at the moment and I don't want to stop working. If I release this, it's out there and it's time to move on. I could of course release new versions later on, but there's still a sense of finality to releasing it.

But I just have to do it. It's okay to release it like this. It is done enough. And frankly, as an amateur at this, it is _okay_ to release an imperfect product. This is literally my first released video game, it's not expected to be perfect or even great.

So, to that end, here is Lab Trouble:

I have thoughts and notes, and I intend to write up a post mortem after some time has passed, but for now, enjoy :)
