The first PC that our family bought back in 1993 was a Vobis Highscreen Colani 486SX-25 Desktop. It was a rather run-of-the-mill low end 486, but it had one special feature: the faceplate of the case was designed by industrial designer Luigi Colani. With its rounded, organic forms it was a looker! I now got my hands on a pretty well preserved Colani desktop. So letβs restore it to its former glory, upgrade some bits and pieces and take it for a spin!

I recorded it in full some time ago, so you could hear this very unique version compared to the PlayStation original.

Can we all just sit here and gaze upon this mastery by Rick Parks in 16 colors? No scanning, done by hand in Deluxe Paint on an Amiga. It's almost photographic in its perfection.
Rick worked at Westwood Studios and worked on Eye of the Beholder I & 2, Dune 2, Kyrandia and other classics.

Would it be possible to squeeze 100 well-known C64 games into one C64 demo so that each game is featured with graphics, animation and sound? It does happen in the new demo "Next Level" by Performers where Pex "Mahoney" Tufvesson (known for Amiga Soundtracker) managed to squeeze 100 game impressions on one floppy disk - the whole demo consists of four disk sides... and won best demo on X'2023 in June.

So I'm gonna punt on getting any kind of Saturn emulation today, and got an Anbernic RG35XX to play Genesis games portably/physically (technically I can do that on the Switch Lite, but I won't pay for NTDO's PLUS service, and anyway it's morally wrong to play SEGA on NTDO)
There is an RG505 which seems, maybe, to play Saturn? But it's $$ and I don't see good reviews yet.

CP/M Essentials: The following programs, add-ons, etc. are what I consider essential for a CP/M system to really be its best self.
The Z-System. This is a combination of a replacement BDOS and a CCP replacement called ZCPR, which implements named directories (logical names bound to drive/user number pairs) and a lot of other features. Your choices are install it manually, or use NZCOM (CP/M 2) or Z3Plus (CP/M 3).
WordStar. It's a text editor, but it's also a word processor, and it was one of the killer apps for CP/M.
Turbo Pascal. The best language for coding for Z80 CP/M.
BDS-Z. The Z-System aware version of BDS-C. It's close to full C89.
Z3COM. A collection of public domain Z-System utilities, curated by the legendary Jay Sage. There's too much in there to list.
ZEX. The Z-System Executive is a surprisingly powerful scripting language for the Z-System, capable of automating even menu-driven programs like Turbo Pascal.
