When I switched over to Digital Ocean and off of my raspberry pi 4, I changed back to Agate server (from Molly Brown) just to make things easy and minimize the down time. I realize that my capsule really isn't high-traffic and minimizing downtime isn't really that big of an issue, but what I don't have a lot of is time to troubleshoot something more complex.
I finally have a day off to myself for a few hours with no SO and no kids, so here I am logging into my server. Digital Ocean said I needed some updates and after a reboot I couldn't see my capsule, so I figured if I was going to troubleshoot Agate, I might as well just replace it. I did get it working but decided to switch over to @skyjake's GmCapsule server since he'd recently been posting about it in his new service #Bubble. I really like the rest of his software so I figured I'd give it a shot.
Setup wasn't too bad, but I had to generate new certificates because the ones I was using were in the wrong format and the one file wouldn't convert from .der to .pem. Oh well, I guess folks will just have to re-trust my capsule again. I've never not trusted a capsule I've been to before, so I assume everyone else does this.
Next up, remembering how CGI works (vs SCGI in Molly Brown) and getting GmCapsule to serve it up. Ideally I'd like to be able to post to my tinylog via a CGI script (since using my phone is vastly easier), and maybe validate using a cert, but one thing at a time. Also the "thanks" button I saw on another capsule seems like a cool idea. Might need to figure out how to store the likes though...SQLite? I guess I could message the author.
