On creating useless things

I like making software things that may not quite be useless, but only get used by me. I like making whatever I have a whim to make. I don't have to care about what anyone else wants or needs.

List of almost-useless things I made

• jhttpd - web server - no one should use it
• Jix - client for LJ scrapbook - long since stopped working
• Compositor - desktop UI framework
• Jetris - version of a well known game
• ShowGC - garbage collection log viewer
• RETest - regex test bed (and sanity saver)
• Tilex - desktop tile maker
• Quircus - IRC client
• FTree - file manager
• Snowflake - symmetrical drawing app
• anims - terminal animation framework
• Jemi - Gemini client
• Rolling Island - game for mobile - available on PocketCode app
• PocketPinball - game for mobile - in progress
• Whitespace - esoteric language implementation
• Hashtag crawler for Geminispace
• Gallery tabs - browser extension, opens images in tabs
• Tinymine - game for Thumby - in progress

Some of these are publicly available. I'm not linking to any of them, though.
