I'm not usually one for life-update gemlog posts, but holy shit, there was a fire in my apartment. My roommate has been piling up hoarder junk in her room and decided it would look nice by candlelight. The fire didn't touch my room, my cat, or any of the 90-odd oil paintings I've got hanging up in here, but there were still something like 20 firefighters in my building, and they still ran the hose up to my apartment, and now my whole place is covered in burnt garbage.
So this extremely short post is partly an excuse for not finishing a single painting in June, but mostly it's just a public reminder to myself to find a new fuckin roommate.
