Kid TV Shows

Here are the shows that we've subjected our daughter to, and what I think of them. The list is in a somewhat chronological order, and I might more thoughts as time goes by.

Cocomelon/Baby John/Little Angel (Netflix)

We started with this, knowing that it's rather popular. Unfortunately, behind it's smooth but slow cheesy animations, nearly all of the songs are poorly changed renditions of the songs I grew up with. The show also feels very "programmy". It also does not leave anything up to the imagination.

Octonauts (Netflix)

This show feels like it's a bit advanced for someone under 1 year old, but she honestly seems to enjoy it! The animations aren't really that bad for a kid's show, the characters have their silly one-liners, they have several totally irrational sub-aquatic vehicles. We actaully like it.

Bluey (Disney+)

I still can't figure out how to describe how perfect this show is. I think the best I can put it is something along the lines of, It's an adult show that's been adapted for kids. I'm impressed how entertaining and well written the relatively short episodes can be!

There are tons of lessons to be learned in the show for both children and adults. What's even better is that all of the jokes are clean, and that makes them even better! Although, as a "dirty tradesman" I still love some uncouth/non-politically correct jokes.

I don't think I can name a favorite episode yet, but the one that hit me the hardest was Season 1 Episode 43: 'Camping'

Coming Soon!

I know Disney has made some changes in some of the episodes from the original show, but whether or not they should have, or needed to, this show should be watched.
