1. What year will mankind next set (human) foot on the moon, and who (nation state, corporate entity, etc) will it be?
Unlikely, unless the chinese discover some reason that has a commercial interest that requires human presence.
2. Stephenson's "Diamond Age" or Doctorow's "Walkaway"?
Dunno. Read both authors, but neither book
3. Will artificial general intelligence be achieved, and if so, when is that likely to be? What will it change about our lives?
I've read both GEB and the Emporer's New Mind, which are opposites. I've watched decades of struggle since, but, fundamentally, we still don't know how our brains work, so how can we emulate them??
4. (When/ will) the COVID-19 pandemic be declared over - ie "endemic", seasonal and no longer an emergency situation?
Without vaccines, the spanish flu (actually from the usa) took around 3 years to peter out. With vax, if it takes much longer than that, there must be external (likely $$) forces involved.
5. What does the year 2072 look like in your mind's eye
Not positive, but it seem quite likely - being a bit of a pessimist here I'll grant you - that I'll be dead.
