Where oh where to capsule? — I thought this might not be for me. Part of it was concern I was playing into evildoers turning Gemini into what The Web became. But, then, I really need to stop worrying about others' online politics, e.g. whether Microsoft/Google/etc. are "evil" to be overtly - not to mention overly - avoided. I can has capsules wherever I like! What it comes down to is whether I can adjust to writing/editing posts in this somewhat clunky per-line fashion.

First Linux package contribution — Yesterday I finally make my first contribution but void linux! It’s funny that I’ve been using a bunch of distributions for years but the first one that I was motivated enough contribute, and that made it straight forward enough to do so, was void :) I’m not gonna rage about how xbps or their void-packages works, but suffice to say, I finally did it!

I was hoping that someone would start a FreeBSD subspace here. I just installed 13.2 onto real hardware for the first time in a while. [ POLL ] Astronaut vs Capsuler vs Captain vs Pilot — I have been never satisfied with the adoption of "Capsuler", if you run a Capsule then you should be an "Astronaut", on the wake of the Gemini spirit. BBS has been updated to Bubble v4.2: Added Snowflake avatar. Improved tag editor: use correct terms ("post" or "issue") and removed redundancy in the UI. Issue trackers display the number of issues in the top heading. Fixed draft undercounting in the dashboard link (comment and issue tracker drafts were not included). Moved tagging actions to the moderator group under post actions, for clarity. Minor page formatting tweaks.

If I could add one thing to the gemtext spec, it would be a horizontal line rule (like <hr/>). You can do it manually, but you can't know how wide the reader's screen is and if you guess badly it looks weird.

Got interested in Palm again after reading some stuff here on Gemini. Dug out my old Tungsten E to find the screen about 25% dead, still booted up though! I spent a large portion of my childhood writing code with OnboardC and the folding Palm keyboard while on car trips.
