Epsom Salt Crystals 2023-01-09

I grew one crystal for a week or so, using a slow evaporation process. It was not as pure a solution as I had wanted: you can see in the images that several additional crystals were growing off of it, and several on the sewing thread.

I used the ANNLOV coin microscope to take these images. The main crystal was about an inch long. I meant to get a wide angle shot of the crystal as well, with something to indicate size, but I accidentally dissolved the crystal before I had a chance to do that. I had moved the crystal into another jar which I thought was a saturated solution, but evidentally it wasn't fully saturated.
