come, tell me my silence renders me complicit
when my voice has in three languages approached my death
not some peaceful passing in the fields, but by blood and break
that thirst-beast a-chittering, wearing a thousand flags
where and when I can, as I so choose, there shall I speak
but my voice is not at your beck and call, nor filed casually
under duress, that call aught but another claiming master
so let us begin again, knowing that they already came for me
that my voice here and now exists a starvled savage thing
leavened over time by survival, by that fractional rotation
by that pocket full of kill-me cards one sometimes lays
that maybe I ��ll save you if I can, if I so choose
but should you try to force my tongue, my hand
you ��re just another almost-owner I ��m cheerful breaking
