Measure Of Strength

mages brought us truth stones
marketed from that other world
where sometimes, if you die
that ��s where you end up
before every metro line
every bus stop, the lot
just opened up �� not just to mages
but to a dozen other worlds
nexus, that interim coffee shop
serving pretty much everything
all on the cheap, converting currencies
getting by on margins, gathers in peace
but sometimes over bagels, conflict is bliss
mages claiming infallibility and scientists
staring down a mage over tea ��
I ��m lying �� and flash, and snap
cracked truth stones make good paperweights
