finally, sitting in the bathroom in the dark
I decide reading a book will be more productive
flip on the light just in time for that cold touch
slipped against neck from the left
monsters to all sides in alien devotion
candles on the cake magically delirium-lit
flavors already present in those ascendent shades
a thousand creatures, mouths open, embarrassed
the smallest of them not quite pausing
squeaking �� surprise �� in a-dactyl tones
three well-metered feet astounded
before the others join in, delayed
of course my arms fly in the air
politest screech of utter despair to join them ��
my lovelies, you remembered ��
and then a cake devoured
