Fix Fix Fix

cloudbursts down our capitol city ��s fine improvisational failure of a main street
makes my long dead father ��s constant influx of dating service missives look normal
you ��d expect some ghostly retribution when the tar peels up, when the muck
all agitated, lets flow striated ribbons in its hair, tears up a curbside rendezvous or two
but astride advanced decrepitude, critical infrastructure wallows by nearly unabated
storm drains in backed up fountains lifting blazoned iron lids stained by name
fix shields undone
fix to one pit
fix avaricious
graves of many in rust and tachycardia banging away, some quasar rhythm displaced
for who wouldn ��t want to date the stars, attest to that finest radiocarbon in human bone
atone in depressed algorithm for some flatulent bloke who ��d point and say clearly
in unsettling wheezing tenor, how the town was giving up its dead all political-like
then, exhausted, reminisce about to pleather seats and unfortunate ears un-desiring
how he ��d like to this-and-that unspeakable, if only anyone would have his affection
if only the dam would hold
if only the street would wake
if only the wake were attended
if only that unspeakable infection, at any point in his life, wasn ��t hunting
something that wasn ��t his to take, spam-filled thunderous interludes of shriving aside
reducing an entire species to mail-order and cussing out the long-lost tarmac
that ��s been rolling by this past hour, while the car won ��t start, and the phone
keeps buzzing endless
keeps selling humans
keeps reminiscing
how if there were any justice, the vulgate would still be spoken in both choirs
human beings being affordable �� and by the gods I don ��t hold, I ��ve listened
done by river
done by water
done by dreaming
even if the whole street goes, I ��m pretty sure I can ��t get washed clean
