Hitching

socially awkward behavior presupposes
both behavior and social �� some veils
should remain un-penetrated
for a species so used to giving things up
consolidating lamentations as gifts
integration, like-to-like, pleads sacrifice
decrying fermentation of difference
variance contrition sipped, rarely decanted
valued as lovers, as others who burn
somewhere down before this highway
my vehicle has let its spark eject
warp core blossoming behind slow moon
gravity engaging remaining thrust
dusting crops along the wayside
coming in changed for blending
were that I were so able, in presupposition
to speak clean nothings aboard this big diesel
burning its weight in load to wailing tones
transmitted heuristics screaming loss
my silent people expecting no messages
where here, had I the equivalent capitulation
I might less apprehend the wait
monitoring upcoming civilization
or its fall to devouring its own
were that I were elsewhere, unencumbered
were that I ��d the words for beauty
their differences, their demons
picking up, by side of road, that thing so other
unknowing, but offering story and rendition
that I might, uncomfortably, learn this new seeming
