Saint George Now A Baker

named Dragon Slayer, with case to match
sheath all done up in filigree, sliver with cotton peace bindings
even away, its voice slithered about on the ground
shouldering leaves from the path, repairing trail surfaces
laying in new drainage, saying
gussy it all up in bloody and flame
but by the beating of my molten core
reclamation and maintenance is where my adoration spreads
no need for stilling wings of dreaded misconception
settle me in with stone and dirt
where by the wayside, unprotesting
that great wyrm nodded ponderous, gave its blessing
some few golden baubles traded most solemn
for laying in a decent kitchen counter and shelves
in viney blue enamel
each agreeing that love what you will
breakfast done up in comfort salves the fires
