smallest of the archers, most despised
we find Gorok the Snotling hidden
most of the way up a tree
with the tiniest of quivers
systematically applying their lunch
one festering horror at a time
to their arrows
some say diseases are from vapors
night air, cool and pressing
skipping directly over night soil
parsing fell gods and birdcall
to unknowable traumatic pestilence
contained in air so changeable
that sunset howls unending
for the town of Donwanna Shire
even that werewolf sunset
now knows long respite
for the contract has been taken
one roaming citizen, one trader at a time
in silent rain of wasp-hair arrows
wasting dawn
