were you happy
darling, either my lovely bonnet ��s all uptight
or this tea is cut �� again �� delighting
a compromise twixt cooked up laughs
and hollow walls walked late at night
truly, we are blessed people, or blissed
never squeaking at our ecstasies, our plight
of pleasures long and lonesome, tock-ling
where smokey flavor indicates �� you wouldn ��t
a hint, a hand, a poisoning, perhaps dementation
unbecoming, but bold, and pressed most lurid
up about my hairline, sweet, and black
lacking cream, this divination you ��ve required
cackles screaming all the while, a century
misplaced behind horsehair and plaster
bulging, breathing, a house whose laughter
infectious spells a sweeter tincture
heart, now fonder for the absinth
worms among the woods, disaster
drawn upon these linen strings, creasing
unreleasing, holding bad thoughts pinioned
here behind wisteria, blossoms in the cloth
forever five and thirty, drinking
youth six generations passed unshirking
a chill, o mother of my mother ��s mother
be comfortable, do try this lightning
having moved that stone in iron wrap
that disc, that trap, that silencing salt
sculled in dips about circumference
rise, both brief and sure, for we must ask
was it murder
