sliding down the metal
talons squeaking horribly
disgruntled quiet hoots
silent wings not quite so silent
whapping galvanized cheap steel
puffy cat upon my head
complaining
roof owl, roof owl
staring in my window
tapping beaky snapping noises
hungry for my dinner
silent wings not quite so silent
bouncing off the cedar shingle
falling over backwards
floof-cat, so stealth
attacking
roof owl, roof owl
waking me in broken meter
hoo hoo hoo hoo
hoo hoo hoo hoo-ah
hoo hoo hoo scritch
hoooo thump scrape bang scrabble
for the love of all that ��s now awake
