capricious, perhaps, but as we made them
gods of loved things, of feared things
of those ceremonially invested moments
deliberately or otherwise, and thus caution
or surprise that one ��s decorations fall
sweet at night to shatter upon the hearth
every story of one ��s best loved calico
spreading the joy in descent
and sudden stop
and sudden start
