That Dark Trade

forgive these modern dating services
their options, limited, betray their human origins
no dryads here, politely seeking fertilizer
grove care left to happenstance
no sealed beast in standing stones
speaking strange and low to each equinox
plucking heartstrings, sweet and resonant
long, and long alone
forgive these base classified accumulations
bereft of butterfly scale and ring-spore
their lore co-terminal with
human
drops second gear, but has new radiator
no mention, not even passing
of sleeping iron toxicity
still, peel back one single cellular layer
cry brief floods of tiers, redirected
one may yet find those twilight inclined
sell here �� and silent, waiting, here
home returned by routing table
carriage plank and beeswax burnished to shine
thick home-wrought legs in oak moon-blessed
traded encrypted in the shadow
