once upon a world in time
we so loved one another
snapshots, personal valuations
combine, fields half harvested
filled with each other
dreams in rows and wanders
sleeping twixt food and flowers
cleaned, cultured, composted
making more, spontaneous
each generation rising
more winged
below, those distant furrows
fingerprint possession
drawing obsessive thumbs
raised to horizon
night-dawn not quite obscured
even by palm
each generation upon its belly
warmer, briefly, warmer
turning crops under
claiming clearer division
sucking down erg
indivisible unit
in finest porcelain
