calling it comfort
it's the taste of orange liquor over vanilla sponge cake
heavy and thick, digging into the old pinions
bending them back featureless
feasting in economic collapse, savoring delicate bites
bringing it all quick, natural as blood under skin
prosperous within dying cities
tracking run-lines, airport, market, school
shrugging and welcoming the attack
fending bodily stacking
how down south they ��ve rolled tanks
spilled ranks into streets, clustered malcontents
spelled their tracks
how each time, there ��s no rising from this
just sanding, laying shellac, stepping the cracks
difference random-walked
remembering overpressure ��s flavor after
feathering one skin after another, taking all comers
crawling acceleration
