The How of Pettins
December 24, 2021
in swiftly flooding cotton one collects detritus
drops it into cargo pockets, rip-stopped nylon mixing in
adages with memories, riffles swept from in-between
surfacing persistent eddies, mnemonics water-inked on grain
waking, reaching in
a cruft, a fluff of dog hair
dampened from the puddle
hauled out behind long staring
another cruft, another fluff
another tufted into-seeming
pull, and pull, and pull, and pull
gains you dog from dreaming
who in lifting wads and batting then collaborates entreaties
snatched sleek from energetic classes, drawing glances
stowing back amongst the unified, papers on field theorem
shedding drops in ideation, shelters going empty
each sneaky friend a stealthy end
converted to beginning
now drifted into catacombs
sifted into baskets
heave to, o gleeful partial presence
we partially seek you presently
who ��d garner our indulgence
in trade of quantum cuddles
whilst milliners with lungs less full no longer breathe compacting
nor at the fiber ��s beacon will, flash fire and fade in passing
creep then sweet meow and howl, let fashionably calico calliope
progress well spun from pocket fluff our tangent unto destiny
