An Ode To Sleeping In
November 14, 2021
mercurial pot-noodles, to you my attention sways
three minutes, two packs, upper class split flavors
how you know it ��s the good stuff, multi-blister
makes it better, drained and flavored, butter mixed
olive oil and just a twist of lime, pardoning thirst
if one forgets and drops entire, whole and entire
that entire funeral pyre of extra salt and something
unnamed, banned in seven states, perfect transition
between fates, calories empty as howlers, waits
clinical benedictions delaying apoplexy, avoiding
in all impoverished motions, complex temptation
rendition in homeostasis, all things being equal
it ��s a good thing this portion comes packed
with its sequel similarly plastic wrapped, Armitage
genderless bachelorhood under lichened stone
hothouse lilies in pale fade gone softly lonesome
six hours grinding the stationary bike, typing
all the while, smiles into distant nutritive gradients
radiant styles draped underground, shown around
waiting sixteen years, four economies, twelve
embattled freedoms culled for cost, lost hard
now just the noodles keeping on, solar hob
grating on tasteful hand-me-downs, habituating
glorious to be alive in this world ��s failure to thrive
warm burial between here and lies, grid layout
decorative round backflip and sleep quick
ameliorated in brand-name recompense
that relatives will show ambivalence to fences
outer harvest and within, continuity is ramen
