Geologic Language

at landing, some kind soul named it Home Too
checked clean for cross-contamination
but proteins and sugars we could process
not impossible, clearly, but highly unlikely
with overtones from some of religion
others hand-waving science
both thrown when we determined entire mountain ranges
to be pyramids, formed of cut stone
hauled from sea-beds, salt still lingering
sometimes laying new oceans in the cutting
both worn down, an epoch of drift and surge
when crops arose in neat even rows
new flavorful wonders complementing our stores
a summer ��s pause took hold, captain in their dome
answering questions with we just don ��t know
share your news, test your harvests
be careful, however kind �� be kind
to this day, we just don ��t know
but of our plenty, we share �� a meal for us
a meal for the world �� plenty for plenty
where one day it may speak in words
or we will gain its language
stone upon stone
