Meal Plan

there's a lot to be side, in the good sort of a lot
for simply sharing space with some folk
and having room for the hands and body to move
grinding art or tossing stuff in the kitchen pot, blooming spice
it ��s a lovely bit of this thing what other people ��ve got
where instead, living alone for years on end
starting that space again prepends pretend, the shape of the space
the movements in place, trained slowly towards remembrance
and the discovery that it ��s now possible to pop up a screen
invite someone in, and just start cooking
where growing up it was family, dodging elbows in the galley
guarding the sharps, blades body-in, flat to arm
old work pants for cleaning the knives, brushing the bok choy
telling the small creatures how good they are
snacks for the pets, and heck �� good chicken into the pot
we love you too, have some butter, butter makes it all better
slow cook slot on the counter taken up, throw stuff about
play pass with crock, and now �� well, back in the land of plague
empty isn ��t empty
prop company up against the pumpkin stem
good to see ��em, they fit right in
