Exploring Sweet

in the wilderness to the downhill side of the raised bed garden
trailing pumpkin vines lay paths through raspberry bushes
clinging their way over nesting grounds for a dozen species of bird
laying shade for rabbits who this year didn ��t get into the peas
while beside the hot peppers slowly going under grass
a single orange lump no larger than the palm of my dainty hand
expands ever so slightly as it peeks up towards autumn rain
it ��s below the raspberries, now long gone to seed, the pie resides
