it ��s not the leather under water getting smaller
it ��s not the monolithic fulgurite in hand
it ��s not the ashes of the tapestries at howling
it ��s not the beach
it ��s not the beach
where all the lightning comes at once to strike attendance
where horses of the water trail fumes
where all the withering grows back in salted hammers
it ��s not the beach
it ��s not the beach
just a stone that ��s been forever under fire
just belching furnace heat since waves atoned
just carving stairs that venture ever downward
from which we ��re born
from which we teach
