balcony seats dusted wet at 0330
cut down BDUs wicking up moisture
empty quart of heavy cream in hand
forty flights up, eighty switchbacks
seventh night running
watching golden eyes and huge pink tongue
one paw placed just so, civilized obstruction
that the gravy boat won ��t slip
and she ��s gone again
whisper-split dark over the precipice
silent, non-reflective camouflage stone drop
car alarm triggered, silenced, weep-woop
brain laggard in what-ifs
on first seeing liquid eyes
hadn ��t said, pspsps
