the first time I saw a swastika, it wasn ��t Nazi yet
instead, in beautiful meter laid out
Kipling spoke the benefits of abuse
how an empire eating its own was beautiful
in cadence and in tone
that happenstance symbol
embossed in leather golden
loving words within speaking sweet erosion
the seven hundredth time I saw a swastika
it came with twin lightning bolts
claiming that Kipling ��s words were true
and I dreamed world serpent
eating its tail, not just holding on
but burrowing in
sweet whispers
that to own a symbol
all you need do
is place it in a fist
willing to choke another
golden leather
golden embossing
and any horror will
in isolation point to other
and say
you ��ll do
we ��ll eat our own to teach you
our own, below us, you
