That Old Panic
April 24, 2021
where there was a joke of stabled horses
all in their wooden cells, nutrient in
ex-nutrient out, mucking the stalls
and off in the field
the unstable ones, sometimes a-whiney
sometimes a whickering bang
augmenting light-sped shift
here again
gone again
a ghost of Niven
integral of empty
nickering at the bark
where there was a joke of unstabled trees
full flung from stalls
starfire to their ired repatriation as forest
missed for angular momentum
here again
gone again
bi-curve given shape, cut, uncut
chestnut stallion fallen to blight
re-lit at height uncounted
where there was flowing into valley
filling scale ��s balance to up and down
spreading both feather and driest heart in flight
before the stables drowned
