midnight has a name
a place within the firmament
but measure unto the numbers goes to
zero three hundred
the whatting hour
where having watched the packet stream
blitz and flinch and do the stupid
one pokes rest/reset
sits and briefly wonders
where all the friends have gone
chats and messengers and silence
devoid of friendly presence
not a single human connected
measuring what
in dribs and drabs
of a people-less world
where in tab seventeen
the spinning circle says nothing
modem rebooting
awaiting not human return
but connection
