Wattlings

here we come upon the small orbital mass Wattling
tethered gently to its nondescript probably-a-star
but maybe also just the concept of a star
decked out in star stuff ��s finery
where the Wattles, those most refined of folk
lay comfortably about in the topographically delightful grasses
sipping fermented perfection and discussing their various theologies
contemplating their neighbors, their glorious environs
and the very best and most efficient ways to end all things
born and unimagined, while not getting up from their disagreements
other than to check on the smaller Wattles so as to ensure
a lack of drowning, and their vats, which they claim height of culture
in which ferments pretty much everything they can think of
whether fruit, or grain, or grass, or the new flower
the little one brought over from the other side
of that geological accretion
they call home
