Consent

this is your friendly reminder
that your place, if you want it,
is speaking and acting against consent breach
in any and all its forms
be it racism, sexism, or
multitude
this is your reminder that you ��
and unexpected others ��
can experience classic ism
because all it takes
is a power dynamic
and an application of force
that force needn ��t be physical
or fully invested in by all of society, or the town, family
systems of control
need only a marginally above average rate
to succeed
a reminder
that diverse organizations which work together
are effective
that those who seek to breach consent
by grouping, often actively seek
to break down cohesive diversity
targeting organizations by seeding them with
��You cannot understand
You do not experience
Look at the other
Decry THEM ��
the quote is common parlance now
and no less true for it
the only way to win is not to play
not to claim for any other human being
that their capacity to be breached does not exist
that their capacity to understand is non-existent
that they be animals, filth, useless mouths
because anyone
like them
is empty
because humans can
and often do
understand
because empathy
and shared stories
exist
because humans can
and often do
experience consent-breach
violent systemic power dynamics
in fractal scale
ask
don ��t tell
for their answers vary
and in asking
still
not yours to demand
one needn ��t find
that rarest individual
who has never had their consent breached
to know them rare
or to declare
every single time
anyone ��s consent has been breached
unacceptable
reminder
that some individuals and organizations
actively seek consent breach
as a path to profit and power
that some are actively seeding

by your own voice
claims and phrasings
specifically crafted to create conflict
animosity in diverse organizations
that specious ��You cannot understand
you do not experience, ��
so effective, so very effective
the test of time
stands still
othering
defining someone
as not-of-us
claiming something of them
as a generality
who they are
fades meaningless
method stitches stone
with other home
and the folks who ��ve been othered, well
their understanding is the foundation
for building more other
laminating decorative horror
in difference to indifference
that all not at the lever

where sanity demands a natural and justifiable
response

because a diverse organization
fighting itself
fights systems of breach less effectively

create the objects

claim other normal

that those with power
may breach ceaselessly
unimpeded
the only way to win
is redefinition
of win conditions
from us and them
to all of us
to hold accountable
individual and organizational action
where if someone or something breaches consent
they contract to be stopped
a diverse group, well
such brings together layers of understanding
thus raises the odds of success
in stopping breach
of incrementally reducing institutional isms
of being effective for the long haul
of working together so that one fine fucking day
we can look up and say
��If someone breaches consent, we have strong, effective tools in place to stop that ��
say
if a group
is having their consent breached
being treated as sub-human
restricted from pay
denied access to voting
or infrastructure
and
you can support rights
and fight vigorously against breach
and mutually support
and - and - and
without standing on someone ��s neck to get there
But when someone feeds you the lie
tells you to be silent
that you cannot know
and do not experience
motherfucker
it ��s absolutely cool
to get fucking loud.
