I do not believe I was misunderstood
simple words, simple actions, never replaced
an oath, a trust, a contract of faith
these things are neither hard nor complex
I ��m told that the chant is recant and repent
become something other, given in, given vent
that excuse of forgiveness will somehow prevent
augmentation of sin by neglect and regret
but the concept of sin suggests we ��ve bought in
pre-existing, original, before we begin
and I do not believe that I misunderstood
when I said I was mine for ill or for good
all we have is the word that we make for ourselves
all we have is the keeping, lest to others we sell
