When
March 13, 2017
I dreamed all my languages came back, whispering under my tongue
licking up the specks of a dusty memory, variety
the animated replications and iterations of each person ��s differentiated smell
little soots of registry black, blue of the blood tattooed
before the ghosts were bar coded
waking, I wrote what I ��d said, stuffed it down the machine
got back, unexpectedly, the expected: word for word, each fragment ordinal
every echo laved pristine, complex fields cut by layer into hills, full flower
where I take home wheat and grind it down, a tomato, a bloom for the gown
a slice of cheese just so when the bread is grown
I dreamed all my sudden stops came back, oven ��s lash like a drone
flaky crust ��s precise grammar of yeast, and rust, and everyone ��s skin
the nursery rhyme of tailings thus: parallel ��s sequence happens all at once
Jack and Jill still watering the hill, their words forever spoken
and you and I spun out to drift, interminable repetition
remembered we ��d said it so, that when we came back round
we ��d remember that we might re-speak, know dream again, the loved refrain
