what victory had you ��
a moment ��s respite under fire
barrage gone quiet whine of blast-deaf
picking positions between incoming
pause knowing, walking pattern
what sadness ��
of survival that sadness
walkabout refrain
stippled main conformance
how fallen the pattern
how forlorn alone
and what fear had you ��
of my own remorseless approach
un-wavered between step forth and step back
disquiet, that where terror should be, footfall
all done up in cotton and quiet
consistent striated closure
and love ��
ah, but love is the gesture of motion
all points one
and still the pattern comes
