I have no breath to give you
and my lips are torn and gone
no soft caress from my fingertips
no fingertips nor soft caress
nor ocher flesh, nor aught but abyss
where hunger lay in heart
and fingers tip the last distress
swallow it like a home
I have no skin to comfort you
mind and mind alone, bones burned black
cracked back like leaves, winter's shadow grown
and I have no comfort but comfort's word
the hunger beyond the heart
and I will know your shadow's stone
lever it's despair
and I will be the empty air
where you have recent been
crushed in your lonesome crevices
that you might know them not
I have no breath to give you
just heat where fear has been
and I will live where your hollow lived
that you weep no more, that you weep no more
