when the ship you're on
has a thousand pieces
each cast towards a separate shore
crush together such flotsam as remembers you
lash in your soul, contempt of self and shore
sole destination an outwash tide
neither cliff nor coracle, deride passion
lashed in oracle, float on, upon
automatic ocean
