Subsistence Revolt

everything I touch burns bitter cold, this sword in my hand and nail in my soul
everything I hold replicates the pain, makes it personal again and grievous whole
everything I strike rebounds of old, flexibility ingrained and incidence bole
everything the one tree told me, everything's come true
how the oracle was lying and by lying made anew
everything remembers grip, hanging on in vain
how is it that the weakest hand is mine
how is it that the grip remained
everything I knew scattered in rain, this shallow pit of heart and skill that's born to art
everything I've won rings bell told, makes the winning solo and the singular of heart
everything remembered dies before Jain, makes the marker wet and fitted to the part
everything the one king told me, everything's a lie
there is no banner in the market and the peasants still die
everything remembers slip, sudden in the grain
how is it that the slipping hand struck true
how is it that the dark ate you
and every answer riddles me, callus to my hand
what sacrifice was sacred rot, what family fed this land
