Limited Finity I
July 9, 2002
for in my dream I have been dead longer than I have been alive
a thousand times beyond, and life the sweetest breath
one moment encompassed, one moment gone
in passing never having said my peace, nor my faith to being
some shield wall overhang, nary grip nor smear to hold me in the sling
though life were some excruciating drop, beautiful transcendence
wherein descent became ecstasy, yea, and then the moment gone
and dreaming, I anticipate my own recurrence, that troubled flight
those I called my own part of the whole, beseeching
let not this memory fragment, ascent, apex, nadir
let even revelation augment life and past, defy grief, defy the abyssal trench
become the deepest plane, transpire to the common ground
rebound upon formulae, rote condition, strict method broken
joy lies in the all, terror but anticipated exclusion - yet all are one
and waking, my heart is steady, and the flow of grief like an anchor
what I have lost so far by choosing to loose acceptance
my tranquil pattern discovered not so tranquil reckoned
multitude of modeled fear sines, forced into apparent cancellation
and what I have not lost, for in truth there was no loosing after all
call it family, call it unity, call it universe
no name can be big enough, no reflection, no containment - all
