when the flicker of eighty-five brings pain
cycles to the second, savage flash and flame
band tightened in behind the eyes, oblivion
occupation, feeding, blessings sure
cycles to the second coming, once more
second coming, remember, work is gain
metaphor myriad, rain one over eighty five
the black in the flicker keeping night
the white and color each a blade to drive
stare, as long as you can, into the killing
drive as hard as you can, into the killing
