my fever is a dauntless beast within
my hunger for you pastes my features blank
is this the promise empty clear of sin?
is loneliness a comfort in our rank?
your comfort faces me in every flame
your name is all names when i cannot speak
is empty but for beauty pleasure's game?
is every harmony within us weak?
our constant sorrow is to be away
our gentle wish a giant washed with tears
is there no vacancy your heart mayn't stay?
is countless sorrow numbered in our years?
brutal bit the constant sea between us
jaws hold mine no brine nor blue deceive us
