Imperium
August 25, 1996
I) Telling
once upon a time
everyone was different,
and there were many kinds
to be mingled like sand.
ways shifted and some swore
this was no blessing,
swore to end their own madness
with a cleansing illness.
in the illness was a protection
built of blood,
that they could
keep their own.
gene factors
the educated called it,
that the righteous would survive
cleansing.
now there remains but one kind
and barring a way back into time,
I shall see forever the husks
of those deemed unwanted.
strange --
that the loudest criers for purity died first,
never the less, they were imperium
this song is their disease...
II) Imperium
delirium would make it so
a vision washed with fever
where petals of a single bloom shadow
so rigid draught against imperium's wrath
even gray twilight's shivers gain life by contrast
delirium's reward -- or petals bowed
against light's inquisition
who -- were you then
when -- there was
everything
an apex
assured, no burn
just light
or per chance it was delirium
a treason washed with foundry water
blurring chance conception -- remember
there are no ideas
that have not yet been known
but diseases unfound abound each fracture
remember, sender
who - eliminated resurrection
when -- imperium's flower
bowed
an abyss
assured, no cure
just blight
or at last could seem imperium
had poured mixed blessings in
curing misconception, one little progression
mortaring shut cracks in our human condition
sender, bend our eyes this way
and prey upon creation
delirium said, remember?
god made one right
and hid all others from his power
who -- made masters
when -- one survived
scourge
anesthesia
reward secured
in hordes
or could have been but longer sleep
erupted shut by dream and creeper's dust
must be enough to survive light -- to become
master, become delirium's daughter -- or a number
remember, you cleared the petals so breathing
for your path would witness no less than daybreak
and ash washed in with skin detains this bitterness
so clean, numbered, slumber taken, mistaken
forgotten
who -- infected imperium
when -- imperium infected
everyone
of the horde was of sith
not made for this clean world
with
imperium on the one land
and imperfect structured other
brought down to dusk
as petals black against the gray
how fractured, looking through
our horde has become
delirium
imperium -- one -- becomes
