you remember me -- you remember me
you remember me -- you remember me
you remember me -- you remember me
I came with the spent seed
I came with the went seed
I set in the ground seed that spilt both rot and mild
I was with the ground weed that your eldest knew when his child grew
I was with the earth feed when the earth was wild
I remember you child
I remember you
I knew how you grew child both near and there and wild
I knew how you grew child, I knew how you grew
I knew before you were child how you and yours were wild
I came from the earth new
I came from the earth's dew
I came here to see you grow in the earth's heart, my child
I came here, from here grew, with your father's father's earth child
I tell you what I knew child
I tell you what I knew
I tell you how I grew, bent and hot and mild here
I cradled the sky new
I cradled the sky blue
I by the sky was cradled --
and sometimes in my need child
sometimes in my hunger, I the sky would feed child
with blood and heart and wonder
so I made the sky bleed
so cut the sky deep
so the sky would keep me, both clear and blood and mild
I came in the earth's need
I sheltered the sky's feed
I from the dust drew my seed, and slackened sky's own hunger
I grow from the need deep, hunger close and never keep
a portion of yourself free from the hunger's passion wild
from time to time a sleep -- deep
from time to time to pass the hunger
and in the sleep a memory of that which would devour
from moon and mist and nightfall
a shadow's casted blightful
an enemy that balancer had called the last control
an enemy that part of me had cast to pattern's sightful
from new moon mist and nightfall
a shadow's casted bell breaker
the maker, the taker, the raker too
one more enemy light too, the enemy rewardful
balance crest and dew fall, an enemy delightful
one of you and I and all, my child of the moon's fall
all child, all, child -- you and I and enemy
one and one and one, and I, we'd sleep in peace for soon we'd die
go arm into the enemy, and call the devourer our own
all child, all, child -- you and I remember clearly
our mother's mother's dew fall, a seed that soon became we
all and all and all child, a dew that knew the enemy
all and all a name child, a name and never blame child
the enemy for its shame child, madness in the knew
devoured we are pure child, clean and cast anew child
one more pure and seed child
sky -- it bleeds, earth -- groans
some say the seeds are pure child, but the child it is grown
and of the enemy child, this so much I knew
I'd touch the sky and it would bleed, deep into my wounds
I'd feed the earth my hunger child, start the cycle new
and I'd know the enemy child, one note the singer blew
all before the lee child
all before the lee child
all before the lee
but the last one had no hunger
came on wings of silent answer
danced a comic caper wild and fed upon my seed, child
and the enemy was brooding, and the enemy was strong
and the enemy was in you child, and the enemy was in me
but this hunger had no hunger, this ender made of hair
and while the enemy come for we child
this one came for me
